Comment 69 for bug 220957

Unfortunately after an upgrade to 8.10. The problem is still there for me. I can see blank DVD's, play CD's but pre recorded DVD's still not being recognised

did the all_generic_ide=1 in grub as well as well
Can I give any more information?
