Okay, another one to try, from upstream. There are three "lib" packages for your arch now in the same web location. Install them. You may need to download all three at once & use "dpkg -i *.deb"
Then test f-spot again. You can return to the standard Ubuntu package if you like (I found what I wanted from the modded F-Spot, and the modded GTK# is versioned higher than the Hardy package)
