I was referring to this: "I can confirm that when i use the 2d open-source ati driver with google earth it lags so much that i can´t use it."
You have not said anything about what card you have nor attached Xorg.0.log so I can not say anything about it being supported or not. But in principle the -ati driver should support all cards that -radeonhd does. So we have chosen to officially support -ati and not -radeon since we don't have the resources to track both.
