Quick, non-exhaustive testing just now seems to confirm that this happens after a suspend/resume cycle. It doesn't seem to happen after a hibernation cycle, though. Hibernating after a suspend/resume cycle doesn't fix the problem, either, though.

Tested on a Lenovo ThinkPad X301.
