I installed using the option on Ubuntu site to install to a USB using USB universal installer and one of last settings to use a new unlabelled linux as I tired of burning CD`s and DVD`s that would not boot.
Still had the Graphics error, but typing help at the error brought up a screen of F key listings - but they did not work
Giving up after trying these I pressed the enter key a couple times and Ubuntu screen loaded to my surprise.
My next step if this had not worked was to switch to Mint or Debian - this really was too difficult
Same bug in 12.04 with Intel M processor, in addition to no PAE issue -
Got a non PAE version here https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ linux/+ bug/930447/ comments/ 84
