I don't understand what you are asking. It sounds like you are asking in #51 for me to install the changes you first mentioned in #43 and told me how to install in #45 with the commands

sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-2.6.32-40_2.6.32-40.87_all.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-2.6.32-40-generic_2.6.32-40.87_i386.deb
sudo dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.32-40-generic_2.6.32-40.87_i386.deb

I already reported back on two separate occasions that I have installed the changes from

on my G41M4-F motherboard. First, on an instance of Lucid that I installed on the USB drive I was testing and then to the instance of Lucid on which I originally encountered the problem. In both cases, it was the same mother board, computer case, power supply, video card, keyboard, mouse, monitor, internal hard drive, and external USB drive. From comments you made in #49, you didn't appear to understand that I already reported having tested my changes on the G41M4-F motherboard in #45

Do you now want me install the changes yet a third time but this time you want me to get the changes

If you really do want me to install the same thing a third time, do you first want me to back out the previous installation I reported from #50?
