@Aaron are you using the E6410? I tried for hours to get the Touchpad working correctly, I tried Editing /etc/X11/
changed from Mouse0 to Synaptics, added it to ServerLayout, Added 'Load "synaptics"'
created HAL file: /etc/hal/
enabled shared memory in my fstab
rebooted.. I have tried everything to get SHM to run that I could think of.
Nothing.
I installed gsnyaptics, but it will not run saying that I have to add "SHMConfig" "true" in the /etc/xorg.conf file, which it is and I thought about submitting a bug.
