Here are two videos demonstrating the problem, both with and without that last kernel patch. It's the same 64-bit KVM image in both videos, using the latest packages from the repos.

In the first video, I 'cat' the KVM script I'm using. I'm not terribly attached to the disk image if it would be useful for testing.
