No it is still the same. I've a Dell Dimension 3000. On shut down it always
restarts after appearing to shut down for about a second. On Madriva One
2010 (Gnome) and XP it shuts down OK. Open Suse 11.3 (Gnome) behaves the
same as 10.04. Ubuntu 9.10 works just fine. It is very frustrating as it
spoils an otherwise excellent version of Ubuntu.
