Comment 48 for bug 497546

I tested today the microphone and headsets in Ubuntu 9.10 to Ubuntu 11.04 and the results are:

Karmic (Alsamixer shows: Conexant ID 5066):
-the microphone is working, except for the analog microphone when using a headset (the Vostro 320 has a built in camera, that's the microphone that works)
-headsets work, and when plugged in they cut the sound to the main speakers so the jack is working fine.

Lucid, Maverick, Natty: (Alsamixer shows: Conexant CX20582 (Pebble))
-the microphone is not working
-the headsets are not working. The sound always comes out through the speakers

In all cases, the webcam works fine.
