I have been working on my little bug more but have not had much luck. I
still get an error when I run try to reinstall
it looks like this:

jason@jason-laptop-ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install --reinstall
linux-image-generic linux-generic

here is the result of the "uname -r" command.
jason@jason-laptop-ubuntu:~$ uname -r

it looks like it fell back to 2.6.31-14-generic after I removed the others
it seems to be having trouble with updating initramfs, I did some research
on line to try to figure it out myself. I took a look at the file
"initrd.img" in root and it is showing up in Nautilus as a broken symbolic
link. Do you think my Nvidea driver is causing it to fail on update? I am
sure there are other possible reason as well that I don't know about. I am
considering turning of the driver and running the commands again, do you
think that will help?
