Both headphones and speaker working on my NB205 N311W (karmic)
$ uname -a
Linux xxx-laptop 2.6.31-16-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 8 04:01:29 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
Connector (headphone or speaker) can easily be selected manually via 'output' tab in sound preferences.
