@Steve,@knuutsen: on my opinion 9.10 is a total overhaul from 9.04, 6
mos won't be enough to really test it. BUT it's totally better than its
predecessors. It work perfectly on my desktop (NVIDIA ION ZOTAC A series
board)

It's up to the ubuntu community and ubuntu local communities (in every
parts of the world) and us to ensure that we participate in beta testing
(or even during alpha) to report and prevent/reduce bugs in the final
release. On the developers' side, quality tools must be in place to
reduce "major impact" bugs (technically minor but has tremendous effects
on the end user). A simple fishbone diagram and pareto analysis goes a
long way. We cannot close bug#1 if this goes on the next release; this
kind of bugs would be still recurring especially on the netbook market
where we all use the same CPU, same chipset, and almost same
pheripherals.
