hi,

today i upgraded karmic. a new kernel came with that, linux-image-2.6.31-11-generic. After some rebootings, i suddenly got this error. before not.

the woraround from #2 helped me, but with changes:
...
intel_agp
 i915 modeset=0

Once this has been configured, you need to run:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-2.6.31-11-generic
