I installed linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.31-14-generic and tried again without better results. How can I check that I have the right alsa version?
The situation remains the same: I get some sound when I unmute the channels and turn the volume up and change the line jack mode as described above.
There appears to be a timeout issue: After a certain amount of time after all sound stopped I have to repeat the line jack procedure. My alsa-base.conf contains the line
options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 power_save_controller=N model=5stack-no-fp
Seems as if there's a timeout of 10 seconds after which I lose my sound again.
Even after that I would prefer not to set the line jack after each reboot.
Please let me know what other files than created by alsa-info.sh I should attach.
