Right, apparently sdb1 is a system partition. I don't have an iPod myself, but as far as I remember the second one is the interesting one. After plugging in the iPod, can you please give me the output of "mount" (copy&paste here) and then do

  devkit-disks --dump > /tmp/dk.txt
  udevadm info --export-db > /tmp/udev.txt

and attach /tmp/dk.txt and /tmp/udev.txt here? Thanks!
