Thanks for testing and the feedback guys. If you'd be so kind, I'm actually going to build one more test kernel to see if I can slim down that microphone patch at all. I'm in the process of building it now. I'll post a new link when it's ready. Based on you're feedback I'll craft finalized patches/test kernels for both Karmic and Jaunty.

I'm going to do my best to try to get this accepted into both Karmic and Jaunty. However, I first need to submit these patches upstream to get feedback, probably make changes (and ask for more testing), and then hopefully it'll find it's way into Karmic and Jaunty.
