Do you have any opinion on if these look sane and if we should push harder to get these upstream? From the thread it seemed communication dropped off due to no longer having access to the hw.
@Antonio, it would be interesting if you could test at least the first patch and confirm if it at least brings back sound.
Hi Daniel,
I happened to come across the following thread on the alsa-devel mailing list, "realtec ALC272 support":
http:// mailman. alsa-project. org/pipermail/ alsa-devel/ 2009-May/ 016917. html
And it seemed to reference a patch to enable audio:
http:// kernel. ubuntu. com/git? p=ubuntu/ ubuntu- hardy-lum. git;a=commitdif f;h=7662834bb9a 78d244c6d7ee433 58c14c94d249c9
There also seemed to be a series of patches which followed to mute the speakers when the headphones are plugged in:
http:// kernel. ubuntu. com/git? p=ubuntu/ ubuntu- hardy-lum. git;a=commitdif f;h=d47775d68ef a5d80552839231f cb4f54dc254c08
And then enable the microphone:
http:// kernel. ubuntu. com/git? p=ubuntu/ ubuntu- hardy-lum. git;a=commitdif f;h=cc28eee26d3 3fac60d598fb226 9e673ba83570e9
