Since you are seeing the same thing with different hardware you should probably open a new bug. Everyone else here who has seen the issue has been able to solve it for them by disabling cdrom polling. Maybe you can do some poking around to see what events are causing issues for you? When you make a new bug report, remember to use ubuntu-bug so it pastes the machine information to the bug report.
