People are currently experiencing freezes on i945 in Karmic (and at least one has verifed it on Lucid as well). However, I think they are all using Gnome, and the freezes started well after this bug was reported. It is possible that this bug has been fixed (the one leading to freezes under KDE) while there is a new one (or more) which leads to freezes under Gnome.
