It works! I have just tested in hardy, and both the camera and microphone works at the same, without using the HAL policy suggested by Leann. Basically, with the kernel you built, the camera and microphone works in any application (arecord, VLC, etc), and keep on working across unplug/replug.
I have not tested on Jaunty, as we are moving today and we are in a bit of a crunch, but I will try to do that and confirm Monday.
AceLan: Now that you are saying that, it is true that I never saw the LED lit up. As far as I am concerned, I would rather have the microphone working even if the LED doesn't. It would be a start!
