 IIRC, the reason is that the author of the drivers wants to remain
anonymous, and GregKH won't accept any code from anonymous authors for
fear they might have violated a NDA.

This one I don't buy. How is it more work to rip the tp_smapi driver
out of the tpctl package than to include the whole thing?
