I can confirm that "acpi=noirq" fixes the problem on the "HP Pavilion dv9610us". I am starting to notice a trend, heh. I am actually curious to know how many of these plagued pavilion laptops originally had "vista" on them :P I know mine did, and I was proud to be rid of it.
