The 2.6.27-8 kernel hasn't fixed this issue for everyone.

I realize that our problem is slightly different than the original bug report as it involves the volume rather than the brightness keys. But https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/291612 is marked as a duplicate of this bug and it involves volume keys on a zepto .

If this bug is to be marked fixed then #291612 should be removed as a duplicate and left open as I don't believe the 2.6.27-8 kernel contains a fix.
