Thanks. I can confirm that hibernation works after installing
linux-image-2.6.24-13-generic, great!

However, there seems to be some regressions as well - my ipw2200
wireless card no longer works, presumably
because /lib/firmware/2.6..-13 doesn't exit. I reported it as #209795.
