But using the link for git-clone to the git-repo described there, results in downloading the newest kernel, right now 2.6.25-rc_something. Just take git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-2.6.24.y.git instead and you will get your state-of-the-art 2.6.24 kernel.
