Comment 58 for bug 194029

Had the same issue with WinXP as server and Hardy as client. Using QuickSynergy (command line gives me scary flashbacks of COBOL green screens...) and modifying the launcher (right click Applications, Edit Menus, Accessories, Right click QuickSynergy, Properties) changed the command to 'gksudo quicksynergy'. You must use gksudo and not sudo since it's being executed from the GUI. Works perfectly now (except that it's running as root).
