I'm having this same issue with ubuntu-16.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso

The md5 of the downloaded file is correct, and if I make an iso of the recorded dvd the md5 matches also. Furthermore, if I mount the iso on linux and check the md5sums inside the iso, they all match.

The problem, however, is when booting the dvd from an external dvd writer. The first times it worked, however after several times it started failing and did ever since. The usb dvd writer is in perfect condition because mounting the disk on linux also verifies the checksums.

However, if I perform the integrity check booting from the external usb writer it says 1 file failed but doesn't specify which one!!!! what crap is this!!
