sudo mcedit /etc/initramfs-tools/modules
  fbcon
  radeonfb

sudo update-initramfs -u -k all -v

sudo mcedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer
  #blacklist radeonfb

sudo modprobe radeonfb

I am under Linux 2.6.22-14-generic with Radeon R250 [Mobility FireGL 9000] and IT WORKED !!!
My problem was that tty's where unusables : big letters and quickly pink screen with jammed letters :-)
