Ok, I rebooted with the latest kernel in the ubuntu repositories (2.6.24-19) and the message reappeared. I am otherwise running the latest kernel from kernel.org (2.6.25.9), with a customized .config file...
I am not sure which upstream version the 2.6.24-19 kernel is based upon... I will revert my kernel sources to 2.6.24.x, recompile and reboot, to see if the problem disappeared because of the source upgrades or because of changes to my .config file. I will post my conclusions here...
