well, the last update to kernel 2.6.24-16 seems to break alsa at all.
on two testing machine the audio driver are not loaded, after a long
pause before harware detection end.
the hardware is:
intel ich5 integrated chip on a netvista box
via integrated chip on an old machine
at least hal works :)
