I get the same error if my SATA-Controller(JMicron) is enabled. Ubuntu drops into a BusyBox shell, cause its the only harddisk I have in my pc. If I disable the SATA controller, ubuntu boots up, but my DVD-Drive isn't recognized. I added the "irqpoll" option to grub as suggested in many places, but that didn't make a difference.
