This is the compaq wl100. it matches my pcmcia card.

I think the problem is that hostap is supposed to work for this and other cards, but it does not seem to for many of us blessed with this or similar cards.

I also have to blacklist hostap_cs and hostap so it does not take control.

I should add that orinoco_cs in 2.6.20-16 (the last kernel it seemed to be in from ubuntu) does not work as well as it once did, but this could just be me. I can make it work even if I have to ifdown and ifup it occasionally.
