I agree. I have an orinoco card by Lucent and it won't work with the hostap_cs. This is the first I have ever run a distribution (either stable or in development) where my orinoco card wasn't detected automatically and supported. Hopefully this can be fixed before Gutsy becomes final. Otherwise I know Debian isn't affected by this and I know where I'll have to go.
