Comment 20 for bug 112860

I seem to have found a workaround:

echo options mptbase mpt_channel_mapping=1 | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/mpt_workaround
sudo update-initramfs -u

I'll post the results of my bisect to the kernel.org bug report.
