I absolutely agree that this should be marked high priority. The prism2_ drivers don't even begin to support the wireless extensions and won't work at all out-of-the-box for most users. The hostap driver has long been regarded as the best driver for the prism 2 series chipsets and it's the only one that should be working with network-manager / wpa-supplicant (though it's not at the moment on Ubuntu - there's a bug on that somewhere).

The default driver for prism2 cards should be hostap.
