What is the driver model/version installed by linux-backports-modules? If you compile the new madwifi driver then update your kernel files, you need to recompile the driver and reintegrate it. Is it the same with linux-backports-modules?

And we know it's the ath_pci 0.9.4 that's causing the problem, but do we know why? Or who should we report this to? Because I really hope this will be fixed by the next Ubuntu release.
