Many of us do not mind an occasional patch to get our hardware working; however with the number of kernel/ubuntu-restricted-modules updates going on, and the having to re-patch afterwards, this is just a headache and causes a major issue with usability. I'm fed up with the repatching myself...

Mandriva 2008.1 works with the eeePC out of the box. Be good to your Solid State Disk's lifespan and try to avoid Windows...
