The following option no longer works as of 04/11/2010

2. To revert to old layout, run in a terminal:
$ gconftool-2 --set /apps/metacity/general/button_layout --type string "menu:minimize,maximize,close"

Apparently though I had already run the fix in the past, the configuration has been reverted back again for me! Which I had brought up in the past. Ubuntu for humans? Apparently not. Sorry but this is not a small issue... the background of this issue is HUGE. I'm out.
