With libnss-ldap from edgy-proposed, problem is still there - 15 minutes to boot. Tried adding nvram as a local group. Nothing.

nsswitch.conf:
passwd: files ldap
group: files ldap
shadow: files ldap

Installed libnss-ldap 251-7.5 from Feisty (including the upgraded libc). Solved the problem.
