Oh, c'mon

As you say in the mail, the great percent user of Ubuntu use Google, then why we add Baidu?

Yeah, some guys prefer Baidu as their search engine, but is there any releationship between us?

Those guys maybe never know what's linux or Ubuntu at all, include your parents.

Add Baidu as a search plugin wouldn't be a technical problem, but the philosophy of Baidu goes against Ubuntu's or Linux's.

If we didn’t' do some thing to prevent, then Chinese people will only have one choise, that's not what all we want to see.

Dear Fellow Chinese Ubuntu Users,

I know all of you hate Baidu. Please calm down, since I don't think it's worthy for you to delete Ubuntu regarding to Baidu.

Honestly and objectively speaking, the users of Baidu are much more than that of Google in China. However, almost all of Linux users are using Google. Many CS-related people are using Google as well, but there is a large number of those who mainly use Baidu.

I am a 100% Linux user (there's no Windows in my hard drive). I use Google at most time. In some special cases I use Baidu, e.g., I want to get the results in Chinese while I search in English.

My parents use Baidu. Many of my non-CS friends use Baidu. I am not willing to persuade them to use Google instead, like I seldom persuade someone to use Linux, because they are used to what they are using.

I think adding Baidu into the list is a good idea. Not making Baidu the default is also a good idea, because if the users encounter Linux problems, Google will help them much well than Baidu.

Thanks,
Chunhao
