Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmail

Using Kubuntu Gutsy, stable release.

After launching Kmail, an authorization dialog pops up even if in preferences the checkbox for periodic mail check was deselected (if previously selected).
Then, if one tries to cancel the dialog (either by pressing 'Esc' or by clicking the cancel button), it is shown again immediately and so on in endless loop, unless the right password is provided (if the password is wrong, the dialog is displayed again).

Steps to reproduce:

1) In Kmail preferences, modify an existing account by enabling periodic mail check
2) Exit Kmail
3) Relaunch Kmail and go back to the same account's preferences
4) Deselect the checkbox for periodic mail check and click 'Ok' twice
5) Wait for the previously set time out for mail check

Does this bug still exist in newer versions of kmail? If so what version and with what version of KDE?

It seems that the status should be confirmed since it is confirmed in intrepid.

If this is still a problem with KDE 4.2 then a report should be filed upstream at bugs.kde.org and linked here. Thanks. :)

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
