c_t , I use KDE 3.5.9 (I was afraid of installing 4.*) but this trouble is here too.
When I used Kubuntu 7.10 (I don't remember which KDE version is there by default) there was no trouble like this.
Now I have Kubuntu 8.04 with last updates
