Further to my last post, I've found that under Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Beta 1 KDE 4.1.2, if you attempt to run:
'kdesudo dolphin' in Konsole, Dolphin opens up with the following error message at the bottom of the window:
Could not start process Cannot talk to klauncher: The name org.kde.klauncher was not provided by any .service files.
I am then unable to access my Home folder or any other partition via that instance of Dolphin. However, whilst leaving that instance running and then selecting File Manager from the Kmenu, I am able to see the Home folder plus all of the other partitions that I have (FAT32 and NTFS) in the new instance of Dolphin.
Although inadvisable, should I run 'sudo dolphin' in Konsole, I am able to access all partitions first time. Accessing a memory card in a camera however is still not possible for me.
