1. Try changing Visual Effects from None to Normal
2. It waits, and a crash report is detected.
3. Get message "Desktop effects could not be enabled".
4. Visual Effects is back to None.
I haven't installed any graphics drivers. Maybe it cannot be enabled because of that, but it shouldn't crash.
