According to comment 40, this is still not fixed. I just reproduced it on a Dell Inspiron 1526. When running from the Karmic live CD, jockey correctly activates the driver. In the installed system, it doesn't do anything anymore. The "Downloading and Installing" dialog pops up briefly, but the driver stays disabled.
