+2 for blinking. It has caused me some 'social' problems(girlfriend mad because i don't answer, et al the lack of 'notoriety' in the notification icon. I don't know, maybe instead of blinking, when a CHAT IS RECEIVED, it can change to a gif file which can be the same envelope but changing colors(does this count as 'blinking'?), or to another icon(could be an 'red alert' icon; that could grab attention)
