I do like New Clear on "intrepid incoming" on the wiki. I think the menus should be semi-transparent.

Intrepid Ibex will ship with a new theme. A competition has been run by
the website Deviant Art, the winner of this will have their theme as the
default desktop in Ubuntu 8.10. The artwork team is not responsible for
the official themes, only the extras. So by October 30th Intrepid Ibex
should look completely different.
