My MSI Wind U100 with up-to-date Karmic UNR does the same.
The flickering appears after bootup until the gnome-power-manager icon appears on the Panel. I found that if i right-click on the Panel it appears rightaway and the flickering is gone.
Waiting for the update! Must be fixed soon. When UNR appeared i loved that it was obvious they put a lot of energy to be compatible with all mayor netbooks, but i'm sure now they didn't even installed Ubuntu on a Wind, because otherwise that bug hasn't even exists.
