I agree with Kimble85, each people of my family (which are not geeks) have the same reaction when they hear the mother board speaker. They are scared and think that what is happening is not "normal".

Speakers are not user friendly sounds, they should not be used when we are using our computer and all is fine.

I have also few speaker beeps when I shutdown the computors (two on ubuntu 9.04) with the fast user switch applet.
